For this installation, called Translation, singer Christina Goodall uses the ‘neonate cry’ print as musical score. She specifically intones a pentatonic scale: a system formed by a scale of fifths that is contracted into one octave. “Many cradle songs are written in this mode. The mood has been used by many cultures over thousands of years”
